A record 270 executives gathered at the 2025 Exhibition and Convention Executives Forum (ECEF) in Washington D.C. on May 28, where Consumer Technology Association (CTA) CEO Gary Shapiro delivered a compelling keynote address titled "Pivot or Die." Shapiro urged industry leaders to become vocal advocates for the millions they represent, asserting that "it's less risky to speak out than to be silent."

The packed program featured critical discussions on rising exhibitor costs, insights from Davos, a "Headwinds" panel moderated by Emerald's Hervé Sedky exploring economic uncertainties, and a closing session on innovation featuring industry standouts from SEMA and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). Throughout the day, speakers balanced acknowledgment of current challenges with strategies for adaptation and growth.
