Today, IMEX America’s expo hall at Mandalay Bay is quiet. The cacophony of more than 17,000 participants has faded. But the content shared in Las Vegas last  week—days of concurrent keynotes, panels and workshops—will continue to inform, drive engagement and generate revenue for show organizers.

Generally, that’s not the case. Despite the effort trade show teams pour into programming, most educational content has a short shelf life. It’s rarely repurposed, often forgotten and almost never monetized.

AI is changing that. A fast-growing list of tools is helping show organizers transform live sessions into lasting digital assets that fuel post-event marketing, sponsor ROI and year-round engagement.

Here’s how some show organizers are capturing and repurposing their valuable conference content.

Snapsight: Real-Time Intelligence at IMEX America

IMEX introduced Snapsight in its America and Frankfurt shows in 2024, primarily to help attendees absorb more content than would be possible otherwise. Snapsight is integrated into the IMEX mobile app to deliver real-time session summaries and personalized intelligence reports, as detailed in this Snapsight case study

Attendees can access takeaways from sessions they missed, while organizers gain a searchable archive of insights to inform future programming. During IMEX America 2024, the show’s Head of Programming Tahira Endean spent most of her time at the Inspiration Hub, without concerns about missing out on valuable education sessions. “Thanks to Snapsight,” she said, “there are key takeaways for the majority of the sessions in the app.”

Conference AI: From Raw Footage to Revenue

Another show tackling this challenge is Informa’s SupplySide Global, a B2B event focused on health and nutrition innovation. Organizers are working to extend the value of their education programming beyond the event itself. This year’s conference, which begins Oct. 27, will rely on Conference AI to summarize sessions, generate highlight reels and create branded video clips.

After the 2025 event, what would have taken about three weeks to edit and distribute will be ready in days. “So much valuable content happens on stage, but it's hard to repurpose effectively,” said Amanda White, CEM, Conference Content Director. Conference AI will feed Informa’s content library, supporting sponsor visibility, attendee engagement and long-tail monetization.

NoteAffect: Elevating Learning at Expo! Expo!

NoteAffect takes a different approach—focusing on learning outcomes and attendee engagement. This unique AI-powered platform captures both audio and visual content, transcribes sessions, and generates personalized handouts for participants. With multilingual captioning, interactive note-taking tools and searchable recordings, NoteAffect transforms passive listening into active engagement.

That was a selling point for the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), which used NoteAffect’s Event-Engage platform to support its education strategy. “As our attendance demographics shift toward Millennials and Gen Z, we’re working to meet their high expectations for engaging learning experiences,” noted Holly Roderick, CMP, CEM, NFPA’s Senior Director of Member Experience. “Even our older attendees found Event-Engage easy to use.”

Just weeks ago, IAEE announced its collaboration with NoteAffect for the upcoming Expo! Expo! annual meeting, set for Dec. 8-10 in Houston. “By doing so, we ensure the future vitality of live events through creating dynamic, immersive experiences that inspire, connect and educate like never before,” said Stacy Powers, CEM, IAEE’s Vice President of Learning Experiences.

The Takeaway: Harness the Value of Your Content

As AI tools become more accessible and intuitive, trade show organizers have an opportunity to rethink their post-event strategy. Content deserves more than a recap—it’s intellectual inventory. When repurposed with intention, it becomes a pipeline for engagement, sponsorship, and community building. When the buzz fades, your content keeps working.
